Introduction
There has been a dramatic change in the oceans temperature and the newspaper you work for has asked you to write an article on the events. They tell you that they want you to cover how this will affect the ocean currents and ultimately how it will affect the global climate. You need to be quick though, the people grow hungry for knowledge!
Task
You will need to produce a superb article that informs the people of this global crisis. Try to use terms everyone can understand because the people may not be as well versed in the ways of science as you.
Process
1. Research! Every good journalist needs to dive in headfirst into their story. (not literally) Your newspaper only has access to certain websites so use the ones located on the sidebar. Remember to take notes.
2. Next you want to create an outline for your article to make sure it has nice flow and everything is connected. Check with fellow students to make sure they can follow it.
3. Make a draft of your article and have at least one other student read over it to check for errors. Remember this is a newspaper and so you have to format it like one. Also you have just been told you are going to be on the front page! That means you get a nice big full color picture.
4. To the presses! Time to print this bad boy out and get it to the people! Please be sure to name the newspaper you work for and cite the articles you got your information from.
Conclusion
Some big shots on TV have read your article and want you to come in for an interview to discuss your findings and hypotheses. The big shots have also invited another journalist who wrote a similar article in another paper. Get into groups of 4 and interview each other about the project, be sure to record this. One person will film, one will be the TV host, and two will discuss. Do this twice so everyone gets to debate their side.
